Design process

The first step is to develop a concept design. Typically people start with a look or an interior layout that they like.

This is then taken to a preliminary plan which can be used to develop construction blueprints and a preliminary budget.

Types of construction

Many of our designers can create more complex structures, such as post & beam, timber-frame or log homes.

These kinds of homes use different structural techniques to support the roof and floors and require foundations that are engineered to meet load bearing points.

They often incorporate open plan living, vaulted ceilings and large expanses of glass to maximize the use of natural light. These features are highly desirable and result in higher resale values.

Building green

Many consumers are interested in building “green” homes. The reality is that 90% of what makes a home green is the first 10% - the design.

Green building considers energy efficiency, use of materials from renewable resources, construction waste, healthy liveability and environmental impact.
